CLAIMS ADJUSTER
General Responsibilities:
- Settle, direct or authorize settlement of claims.
- Submit reserve recommendations on all assigned claims
- Complete file documentation of process required.
- Handle overflow claims fro other districts
- Available for catastrophic claims duty which could require travel outside of the claims territory and/or state.
Required Experience/Education
- Four-year college degree.
- Completion of AIC designation within 5 years of position.
- State Claims Manager to review other experience.

DISTRICT CLAIMS MANAGER
General Responsibilities:
A. Supervise claim personnel in district and maintain periodic personal contact with their claims personnel.
B. Schedule and conduct district meetings.
C. Maintain reserves on claim files.
D. Recruit, train and evaluate Claim Representatives.
E. Assign work and provide supplies for Claim Representatives.
F. Recommend the hiring or termination of personnel in their district.
G. Maintain claim procedures per claim manual.
H. Answer calls from clients and respond to complaints.
I. Monitor and control litigation expenses in their district.
J. Maintain communication with District Sales Managers in their district.
K. Aid in getting and explaining risk reviews to the Underwriting Department.
L. Participate in department functions outside their district when called upon.
Required Experience/Education
- Eight to Ten years of experience in a similar capacity.
- Litigation Management and/or Supervisory experience a plus .
- Four-year college degree.
- Completion of AIC designation.
- State Claims Manager to review education other than above.

SYSTEMS ANALYST
General Responsibilities:
The Programmer Analyst is responsible for analyzing system applications that have been outlined by the Programming Supervisor or other project leaders and effect applicable solutions. This is accomplished by performing maintenance on existing applications, developing new applications, following company adopted development standards and addressing technical and business issues associated with the system solutions. The incumbent also verifies application logic by preparing test data for trial runs, testing and debugging system applications, verifying test results and preparing documentation in accordance with accepted company standards.
A. This individual is expected to have a background in Client Server program development.
B. The Programmer Analyst has contact with the members of the Information department and various business units in the regular performance of the duties of this position.
Primary Duties:
- Analyze and evaluate system applications and effect solutions through system application maintenance or by new system development and informs system consultants on project status.
- Develop and maintain system documentation as defined by company development standards.
- Keep up-to-date on system development techniques and apply those techniques when analyzing and developing system applications.
- Prepare development time estimates.
- Verify application logic by preparing test data and test plans, test and debug system applications, and verify test results.
- Assist in determining the causes of system problems by conferring with technical, business unit and system personnel and give production support as needed.
- Provide twenty-four hour support for computer operation of production systems as needed.
Additional Skills Required:
Essential:
- Mentor programmers on the problem resolution process and provide information pertaining to the system.
Non-essential:
- Give guidance to development staff in the areas of technical and business function support.
- This individual must be flexible with the type of projects they are willing to work on.
Machines & Equipment Involved :
A. This individual is expected to be familiar with all desktop computers.
Software Required :
A. This individual is expected to be proficient in at least one of the strategic programming platforms (Centura or Visual Basic) used at Colorado Farm Bureau Insurance.
B. All application software used to support their Colorado Farm Bureau Insurance customer.
Skills Required :
A. Good analytical/conceptual thinking skills, technical systems knowledge, and problem solving skills are required.
B. Must have a good customer service orientation, impact and influence, industry awareness, initiative, integrity, people savvy, relationship management and self-confidence skills.
C. Oral and written communication skills as appropriate to this position.
D. Ability to write, speak and read the English language.
Education/Experience :
A. College degree prefferred; or a two-year degree and three years of experience.
B. Working knowledge of multiple IT platforms.
